For straight line editing, the price is $2.00 per single spaced typewritten page.
The service provided is exactly that, basic English and grammar checked and fixed,
as well as making sure that sentence structure is sound, providing input for
writing changes in the terms of suggestions. It takes care of most problems.
For full doctoring, which includes not only the mentioned above service, but
also rearranging of paragraphs/sentences, whatever is needed to make the story
work better is provided at a cost of $3.00 per single spaced typewritten page.
There is no actual writing done that would add to the story, i.e., suddenly paragraphs
popping up that are not yours, or character/situtation additions or subtractions
done by me, unless you request it, and even then, only after we have discussed
what you want in detail.
After we have talked about exactly what you are wanting and how soon, to begin work all I require is the following- (1) a copy of the manuscript emailed to me. Upon completion, this copy with the changes and/or suggestions will be sent back to you, or several chapters at a time so you can see how it is progressing-your choice. (2) a check or money order (no cash please) for one half (1/2) of the total cost of the editing. Allow me an example of the entire procedure, in easy round numbers.
For this example, you decide you just want the basic editing. You have a 130
page book double spaced. Reduce it to single space to get the actual page
count (Courier new 12 point-MS Word. DOC preferred), and now you are at 100
pages, single spaced, for a total cost of $200. (and also, all funds in US
dollars please) You then email me and tell me the number of pages, and any
instructions you have. You can send the efile as an attachment with this
mail, then send a check or money order for $100. I will let you know when
I receive it, and will begin in full earnest having already begun a preliminary
edit with the efile.
We will be in contact as much as needed during the procedure, and then, upon
satisfactory completion, you mail me a check or money order for the balance,
in this example $100.
And then our business is completed. I do not, unlike some others I know, ask
for a reading fee or acknowledgment in anyway, I am truly a ghost. My job is
to make you and your words look and read the best they can.
